Forex reserves decline
JAKARTA (JP): Bank Indonesia said on Monday that Indonesia's international reserve and foreign currency liquidity, previously known as the foreign exchange reserve, fell by US$156.2 million in the second week of June to $27.24 billion from the level in the previous week.
The central bank said in a statement that the drop was due to a repayment of the country's overseas loans.
Bank Indonesia also said that currency in circulation as of June 14 dropped by Rp 1.44 trillion to Rp 90.65 trillion from the level in the previous week.
It said that the drop was primarily due to the decline in the circulation of rupiah notes and coins.(rei)
