Forestry research projects

JAKARTA (JP): PT. Wanatani Makmur Sejati, PT. Sarang Sapta Putra and the ministry for forestry and plantation signed agreements on Monday to implement two forestry research and development projects in Kalimantan.

The two projects are designed to develop a sustainable forest management method which can generate optimum yield.

One of them is a multi-purpose forest project in East Kalimantan which will adopt an inter-sectoral concept which encompasses ecology and socio-economy to optimize sustainable forest exploitation.

The other research project is designed to optimize the utilization of forest resources in Central Kalimantan for the benefits of people living near the forests. (06)
