Forestry firms help victims

JAKARTA (JP): The Association of Forest-based Companies (APHI) on Tuesday sent a special team to West Sumatra to deliver Rp 550 million worth of aid to the victims of recent floods and landslides in the province.

The association said the team, headed by association chairman Adiwarsita Adinegoro, would distribute food, medicines and other basic needs and donate cash to the suffering families through local natural disaster relief centers.

It added that the distribution of the aid, which was donated by APHI members out of solidarity for the natural disaster victims, would be coordinated by Irman Agusman in cooperation with local officials.
