Foreigners denied bogus visas

PEKANBARU, Riau: The provincial immigration office has denied access to 75 foreign job seekers who tried to enter the country via Dumai port using bogus visas, an official said on Thursday.

Head of Riau's Ministry of Justice M. Iman Santoso, was quoted by Antara as saying the foreigners' expulsion took place between February and August this year.

Iman said the foreigners were mostly from Bangladesh, Nigeria and Sri Lanka.

He said his office listed some 1,000 expatriates working in various companies across the archipelagic province. The number excludes their families.
