Foreigners busted for visa violations
JAKARTA: Nine foreigners were apprehended on Wednesday by officers from the Directorate General of Immigration for violating the Immigration Law.
The foreigners, eight of whom are Taiwanese and one Japanese, were detained while working at a firm on Jl. Jababeka IV, Cikarang, said Mohammad Indra, Director of Immigration Control.
Taiwanese Chu Jen Chuan, Chang Pei Lan, Hsu Chao Tsung and Tseng Yu Chi were on limited stay visas, while Yeh Wen Lung, Huang Kuo Fu and Huang Lao Te were on business visas, while Yang Ming Hsin and Japanese Baba Toshiyuki were on short-term visas.
"We are grilling them intensively over their immigration violations, and may face a court trial," said Ade E. Dahlan, the Immigration Office spokesman. -- JP.
