Foreign aid and motives

I am really concerned about what happened in Aceh. First of all, I am really sad about the tragedy and I hope God blesses those who are missing and the families who are left behind.

Here in Europe and the other parts of the world people are collecting money for Asia and the province of Aceh. We have to be aware about all those people who are coming to Aceh, because it seems that all the army personnel deployed have another purpose in Aceh. We should not allow any of them to give guns to the separatists in Aceh (GAM).

We should be aware that it's possible that Australia helped East Timor to gain independence so that they could steal the gas in the East Timor sea. Now they have come to Aceh to rebuild the area. Where are our people? Can`t we build a water system or sanitation facilities or hospital ourselves? And where are those technicians from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)? Wouldn't it be a major project for the National Institute of Sciences (LIPI)?

We need to save the children and put them into school as soon as possible. Without our assistance this humanitarian work will not be easy. Here in Europe we are watching live broadcasts on TV every 10 minutes to know exactly what is going to happen. This disaster will be a great challenge for our Indonesian scholars and government.
