Ford Superstore opens in Semarang

JAKARTA: PT Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI) expanded its sales and service network by opening its latest outlet in Semarang on May 14 to cater for its customers' needs in Central Java province.

"Semarang is strategically located between Jakarta and Surabaya and that's the reason why we decided to open a Superstore here," director of PT FMI Will Angove said in a media statement.

The company's records show that PT FMI sold 8,028 vehicles in 2003, compared to 6,503 units the previous year.

Currently, PT FMI also operates one Superstore each in Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Medan, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Samarinda and Surabaya. Meanwhile, there are six Superstores in Jakarta.

The company offers four models of Ford Escape and Ford Everest sports utility vehicles (SUV), Ford Lynx sedan and Ford Ranger light truck. -- JP
