Forcing children into adulthood

From Berita Yudha

I have recently seen several episodes of a children's television program aired by one of the private TV stations: Ciluk...Ba... (peekaboo). The presenter is also in her childhood.

Although the program is attractive on the whole, there is one thing that requires special attention from the producer or the brain behind the program, i.e. the style and attitude of the presenter.

Meisy, the presenter, is too adult for her age and too coquettish.

I am aware of the possible requirements of a presenter: flexible and chummy in order to make the show attractive. The skill to entertain is needed for adult presenters but not for children like Meisy.

Another children's TV program, Krucil, is more natural in presenting children in accordance with their spiritual and mental development. Here, there are no artificial means to make the children adult before their time. We see here the agility and naturalness of children in presenting a program or in holding an interview. This kind of approach from the producer is of higher value.

Again, the thing to avoid is to make children in TV programs act like adults.
