Football, rugby, etc.
Mr. Piero Ronci is absolutely correct. He is right and the four different nationalities who responded are wrong, and obviously so is the Indonesian who responded on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1995. Everything Mr. Ronci says about English football, the English, rugby, taxis and Indonesia, is absolutely correct.
However, are all those who disagree with him wrong? Of course they are! It's completely irrelevant that I have yet to see anyone agree with Mr. Ronci. You see I love his letters. Mr. Ronci is actually one of these very lonely people....needs to be loved. English football is his "pet hate"....why? Because obviously it's rubbish. Why is the football commentary in English? Because it's rubbish. Why did Ginola, Platt, Roy and Gullit go to English football? Also because it's rubbish.
Let's be honest, I would love to listen to Indonesian commentary with no match atmosphere or incorrect pronunciations...I really want to hear and see that. I'd love to hear the pronunciation of Niedzeswki, Kharine and Hughes or, better still, why don't we have NBA basketball in Indonesia, just like we had the Wimbledon finals in Bahasa Indonesia. Wasn't that wonderful? Me switching to BBC world service had nothing to do with the fact that the sound on my TV was not working!
What examples were you going to give us for German, Spanish and French players? You only gave us two Italian names...
