Food poisoning at wedding

BANDUNG: At least 200 people from the Bojongkoneng district
near here were rushed to hospital Sunday after coming down with
food poisoning at a wedding reception attended by more than 600
guests.

Most of the victims were sent straight to the Santo Yusup
hospital's intensive care unit, Antara reported. The unit's five
wards were inadequate for the victims. Some had to wait outside,
vomiting all over the floor, while the remainder were taken to
other hospitals, including the Hasan Sadikin, Muhammadiyah and
Boromeus.

No deaths were reported and most of the patients have been
discharged from the hospitals.

Friends and relatives said hundreds of the guests felt sick
immediately after enjoying chicken soup, grilled meat and mixed
fruits at the party. Police are investigating the case. (swe)
