Food for the soul

Amid the creeping darkness, the muezzin makes the resounding, triumphant call. Finally, it is time to break the fast.

Some may choose to do so at a fast-food eatery or upmarket restaurant, while others, forced by circumstance, grab a bite on the street on their way home.

Regardless of how they do it, for all Muslims -- young and old, prince or pauper, high-powered businessman or city busker -- it is a joyous, reflective moment. They have come through the day without succumbing to temptation, and will reap the blessings that come with Ramadhan.
