Floor price on export goods extended
JAKARTA (JP): The government has extended the floor prices set for certain export products for the period April 1 to June 30 for a further 15 days, the industry and trade ministry announced yesterday.
The director general of international trading in the ministry, Djoko Moeljono, said the prices would apply until July 15 because officials were uncertain what the floor price would be for the next three months.
"That is why floor prices for July 1 to Sept. 30 have not been determined yet," Djoko said in a fax addressed to the Directorate General of Customs, Bank Indonesia and the heads of provincial industry and trade offices.
Floor prices are set for all kinds of natural sands (including colored and non colored), logs, raw materials for pulp, sawn timber including railroad tie and veneer, split trunk and wood poles including electricity and telephone poles, and rattan.
For the April 1 to June 30 period this year, the floor price of ebony and sandalwood logs was set at US$2,471 per cubic meter, other luxury wood logs at $571 per cubic meter, teak logs at $750 per cubic meter, Meranti logs at $125 per cubic meter, mixed logs at $90 per cubic meter, and rubberwood logs at $70 per cubic meter.
The floor price for wood chips to make pulp was set at $30 per cubic metre.
The floor price of sawn timber including railroad ties and ebony and sandalwood veneer was set at $5,000 per cubic meter, and for other luxury woods at $1,200 per cubic meter, teak wood at $1,200 per cubic meter, Meranti wood at $500 per cubic meter, mixed species woods at $350 per cubic meter, and rubberwood at $280 per cubic meter.
Split trunk and wood poles including electricity and telephone poles made of ebony and sandalwood were floor-priced at $3,000 per cubic meter, other luxury woods at $720 per cubic meter, teakwood at $720 per cubic meter, Meranti wood at $300 per cubic meter, mixed species wood at $210 per cubic meter, and rubberwood at $168 per cubic meter.
Natural untrimmed thick Manau AB rattan canes of all sizes were priced at $3.30 per kilogram, machine polished Manau AB cane at $3.8 per kilogram, natural cane all size $1.8 per kilogram, wide diameter tohiti natural all size at $2.05 per kilogram and Jahab Loonty trimmed AB all size at $3.4 per kilogram.
Lambang and Kooboo soft untrimmed AB rattan were set at $2 per kilogram, Red Datu AB at $2.05 per kilogram, polished A all sized cane at 1.9 per kilogram, Fitrit/small core A all size at $6.5 per kilogram and chair cane A/B all size at $12.5 per kilogram.
The floor price of beach sands was set at $3 per cubic meter and river sands at $4 per cubic meter. (das)
