Five men arrested for murders

SEMARANG (JP): Central Java Police have arrested five men for their alleged involvement in a series of murders in Solo, Pati and Semarang.

A source at the Central Java Police Headquarters said on Friday that the five suspects had been identified as Ari, 18, Afrisal, 27, Suwarno, 35, Katno 23 and Tri Sunanto, 32.

Ari was arrested at his home in Sukoharjo. Ari is believed to have been involved in the murder of Sulistio, 17, in Solo, together with two of his friends who are still at large, Antara reported.

Afrisal was arrested in Solo for his alleged involvement in the mob killing of a cafe customer in the city, while Suwarno was arrested after allegedly killing his neighbor, Slamet Padang, in what is believed to be a revenge attack.

Meanwhile, Katno, accused of murdering Basuki, 20, in Solo, was arrested five days after the murder, while Tri Sunanto was charged with killing his friend Yudo in Tlogosari, Semarang.
