Five injured in firecracker blast

SEMARANG: Three sacks of firecrackers stacked in a bus at
Terboyo terminal here exploded on Tuesday afternoon, leaving five
passengers severely injured and part of the bus damaged.

Semarang Police chief Lt. Col. Mathius Salempang said on
Wednesday one of the victims was a four-year-old girl identified
as Ayu. The other wounded passengers were identified as Nuryanti,
27, Srinantun, 45, Lilik Pujianto, 28, and Rahmat Basuki, 27.

The five are being treated at the Sultan Agung Islamic
Hospital for burns in their face, head or chest.

Police have arrested a 30-year-old woman identified as Sriyati
of the neighboring town of Jepara, who would sell the
firecrackers here during the Ramadhan fasting month and holiday
