Five hurt in machete attack

UNGARAN, Central Java: Four houses were burned down and at least five people injured when a suspected insane youth ran amok in Bendungan village, Semarang regency.

Antara reported that Nur Cholis, 25, ran amok wielding a a machete and burning several houses at about 6:30 a.m on Tuesday.

Police are still investigating the reason for his actions but Cholis, after being apprehended by police, was immediately taken to Magelang Psychiatric Hospital. (mds)
