Five commit suicide on Feb. 1

JAKARTA: The police were busy on Sunday as five people
reportedly committed suicide across the city on the Islamic Day
of Sacrifice, or Idul Adha.

No information was immediately available on what might have
motivated them to take their own lives.

Bram, 41, a resident of Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, was
found dead in a hotel room in Mangga Besar, Central Jakarta, on
Sunday afternoon. An insecticide spray was found on the bedside
table.

A resident of Tangerang, Aji, was found dead in his bedroom at
8:30 a.m. on Sunday, while Noli was found dead outside his home
in Cimanggis, Depok. Both were in their 60s.

Later in Pancoran, South Jakarta, an unidentified man was
found dead beside a railway. A witnesses told the police that the
man had been seen approaching a moving train.

The last case was that of a man identified as Ahmad, 32, a
resident of Cilandak, South Jakarta. According to neighbors,
Ahmad committed suicide at about 10 p.m. --JP
