Fitness club's poor management
I am writing in disgust at the so-called bona fide Odiseus Fitness & Spa Club (WEIDER) at Menara Marina apartments where I am a resident. I became a temporary club member on May 23, 1997 and the expiry date is June 23, 1997. The monthly membership allows a person to use the facilities and then decide whether or not to become a full member.
Luckily I discovered the management was unprofessional before becoming a full member. On June 16 I received a letter dated June 13. The letter stated that from June 15 I would have to pay a full membership even though there was still a week before the expiry date. But I got the greatest shock when I arrived at the club on June 16 and was told that I was not allowed in, even though I had paid for the month. There was no sufficient notice in advance given to all temporary members. There was also no leeway provided and the supervisor gave a very poor explanation.
I was very embarrassed to be turned away in front of the staff as if I owed my club fee. It just goes to show how badly this club is being managed. In fact, I am really surprised that things like these are allowed to happen. The club still owes me the balance from the temporary fee.
