Fishing boat catches fire

DENPASAR, Bali: A fishing boat caught fire on Saturday off
Bali but all the crew swam to safety to Ketapang, south of
Denpasar, Antara reported on Monday.

Bali Police spokesman Maj. Y. Suyatmo said the fire on board
Putra Jaya 50 caused the owner, a local fishing company, Rp 500
million (US$66,000) in losses.

Imam Safei, the boat's captain, told the police that the fire
was first spotted in the engine room.

The crew had to swim for about six hours to reach the shore,
