Fisherman survives horror sea trip

SEMARANG: Rescue workers continued on Saturday their search for three West Nusa Tenggara fishermen who went missing in Bali waters.

One survivor, Saharudin, was found unconscious by fishermen in Cilacap waters, Central Java, along with the bodies of Haming and Nas, who died after their boat drifted in the sea for 20 days, Antara reported.

Central Java Police identified the missing men as Rusli, Arifin and Nasrudin.

The six left kampung Melayu in Bangsa village, Mataram district, in mid-June.

Rough weather in Bali overturned their motorized vessel. The 40 horsepower engine was lost overboard, but Haming, Nas and Saharudin managed to hang on to the sides of the boat.

Saharudin is currently receiving treatment at Cilacap Hospital.(swe)
