Fiserv sets up subsidiary

JAKARTA (JP): Fiserv (Aspac) Pte. Ltd., one of the leading providers of data processing and information management products and services, has established a local subsidiary called PT Fiserv Indonesia to boost its business here.

The managing director of Fiserv (Aspac), Peter Hill, said yesterday that the new subsidiary -- located at Menara Thamrin -- would provide user and technical support, implementation, sales and regional software development to clients who have connected to the Fiserv International Comprehensive Banking System (ICBS).

Fiserv ICBS offers a comprehensive range of products which cover customer lending, commercial loans and deposits. The equipment is aimed at delivering high-powdered, effective tools for customer service in banks.

"The office in Jakarta clearly demonstrates Fiserv's commitment to the region, a commitment we support with internationally trained and highly skilled technical personnel," Hill said.

He added that in the past six years Fiserv had sold ICBS to major banks throughout Asia.

"We now have over 40 customers in 23 nations and with the new office in Jakarta, we know we can make an even greater impact in the regional market," he said.

Fiserv (Aspac) which was set up in Singapore in 1991 is part of the United States' Fiserv CBS Worldwide. The company's customers in Indonesia include Bank Dagang Negara, Modern Bank, Panin Bank, Bank Papan, Bank Duta and Kharisma Bank. (icn)
