Firms warned over nuisance permits

The West Jakarta mayoralty administration is threatening to revoke the operating permits of 20 companies in the area which do not have the necessary Nuisance Act permits.

Karsidin, the mayoralty Law and Order Office chief, said he had asked the companies to apply for the documents or face sanctions from the mayoralty administration.

"If they fail to do so, we will repeal their operating permits," Karsidin said over the weekend.

He said that the violations were discovered by a team from the mayoralty administration during routine inspections between July 1 and July 28.

Gubernatorial Decree Number 1641 of 1982 dictates that public buildings, including workshops, office and market buildings and stores, should have nuisance permits. (03)
