Firman Gani new Brimob chief
JAKARTA (JP): National Police chief Gen. Roesmanhadi installed Brig. Gen. Firman Gani as the new chief of the elite Mobile Brigade (Brimob) in a ceremony at the brigade's headquarters in Kelapa Dua, South Jakarta, on Wednesday morning.
Firman Gani, who served as an adjutant for former president B.J. Habibie, replaces Brig. Gen. Silvanus Yulian Wenas. Wenas will soon replace Brig. Gen. Hotman Siagian as Irian Jaya Police chief.
Roesmanhadi installed four brigadier generals as the new heads of the National Police detective directorates of general crime, corruption, narcotics and special crimes on Tuesday.
The new directorate heads are Brig. Gen. Engkesman Rangkeong Hillep, Brig. Gen. Timbul Silaen, Brig. Gen. James Daniel Sitorus and Brig. Gen. Made Mangku Pastika, respectively.
The reshuffle in the detectives corps and the Mobile Brigade is part of a major reshuffle of middle-ranking officers at National Police Headquarters. (ylt)
