Firefighters kept busy in N. Jakarta

JAKARTA: Fires erupted in the North Jakarta neighborhoods of Sunter and Cilincing on Tuesday morning.

There were no fatalities reported in either fire.

The first blaze began at about 5 a.m. in a house on Jl. Agung Perkasa in Sunter.

Several minutes after firefighters extinguished the blaze, they were called to the densely populated Kalibaru subdistrict in Cilincing.

Thirty-three fire engines and support vehicles were deployed to the area, said fireman Ma'un Tjokro.

The police are investigating the cause of the fires and calculating the material losses from the blazes. -- Antara
