Fire razes two stores in Bandung

BANDUNG: Fire razed two stores selling jeans on Jl. Pasar
Selatan here on Thursday afternoon, destroying all the
merchandise.

"Two explosions blasted away three metal doors of the stores
before fire ravaged the building," an eyewitness said later in
the day.

The fire brigade managed to put out the fire at 6 p.m.

"It was hard to extinguish the fire as the winds were strong,"
said Tumpal Sirait, head of the fire brigade.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but preliminary
findings point to electrical short circuiting. (25/edt)
