Fire razes shop, bike repair shop

JAKARTA: A shop house and a motorcycle repair shop belonging
to Pairus Situmorang, 60, on Jl. Ampera Raya, Pasar Minggu, South
Jakarta, caught on fire late on Thursday.

The Jakarta Police revealed on Friday that the preliminary
investigation found indications that a short circuit caused the
fire.

Witnesses said the fire started at the shop house and quickly
spread to the adjacent motorcycle repair shop.

At least 18 fire trucks and support vehicles were deployed and
managed to put out the fire a few hours later.

The South Jakarta police were still investigating the case and
assessing the losses incurred in the incident. -- JP
