Fire razes kiosks, kills one
BEKASI, West Java (JP): A woman was killed as a fire razed three kiosks, one of which was used to sell electric appliances, one a drugstore and one a bakery in Tambun district here on Thursday.
"The victim, who apparently died of suffocation, is Kartiah binti Rosmadi, 28, a maid at the bakery who was a resident of Ciuyah village in Cirebon, West Java," chief of the Bekasi Fire Brigade Warsono said.
Warsono said the fire seemed to ignite from the cake kiosk, which was located between the two other kiosks, at about 4:30 a.m. yesterday.
Local police said the cause of the fire and the total losses are still being investigated. (kod)
