Fire raze Kuala Kapuas
PALANGKARAYA, Central Kalimantan: Hundreds of houses and shops were destroyed in a fire which razed the Kuala Kapuas city on Wednesday night. No injuries were reported in the disaster.
It was the second major fire in the city in four days.
Spokesman for the Kapuas regency Arbain Rachman, said the fire damaged a mosque, a cinema, and a hotel.
The earlier fire on Sunday destroyed 68 houses, 47 shops, six inns with losses estimated to reach more than Rp 2 billion, Antara reported. (par)
