Fire destroys subdistrict office

TANGERANG (JP): Tangerang police detectives are still
investigating the source of the fire that razed the Babakan
subdistrict head's office on Jl. Jend. Sudirman, early Wednesday
morning.

"The wild fire destroyed vital documents stored in the office,
including tons of rice which were to be sold in the village
market," Tangerang subdistrict public relations official, Said
Endrawiyanto, said.

Separately, local residents noted that the fire could have
been intentional, related to the recent dismissal of Arsyad
Sarimai as Babakan subdistrict head.

"Since his dismissal, the new subdistrict head, Moch. Ali, has
not assumed his position. Arsyad has been transferred to a
security office. Ali was formerly Buaran Indah subdistrict head,"
a resident who requested anonymity said. (41/ylt)
