'Film Night' on at Oriental theater

DENPASAR: Award-winning filmmaker Jane Walters will resume the Film Night
screening program on Jl. Sri Rama, Legian, on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at
9 p.m.

Tuesday's program features the documentary film 1001 Kecak
Dancers shot on Aug. 16 at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural
park, Jimbaran.

A graduate from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Walters
has worked in the film industry on feature films and for
television.

Her first independent documentary, Bali Hope in Paradise, on
the Bali bombing tragedy and its aftermath, won the International
Film Award for Best Documentary at the New York Independent Film
Festival and the Challenging AsiaChoice Competition Category and
Humanitarian Award at the First EBS International Documentary
Festival.

The film nights are an attempt to provide stimulating
entertainment and discussion, with filmmakers presenting films
not normally be accessible to Bali residents. -- JP.
