Fiber optic cable plant

JAKARTA (JP): PT Voksel Electric, in conjunction with Showa
Electric of Japan, plans to build a US$15 million fiber optic
cable manufacturing plant next year, the company announced
yesterday.

The new plant, which will be located in Cileungsi, Bogor, West
Java, is scheduled to begin production next October.

Voksel Electric's President Ferry Tjandrawinata said his
company is expected to reap a net profit of Rp 10 billion
(US$4.34 million) this year, approximately Rp 2.5 billion more
than the initial target.

Total sales this year are expected to reach Rp 265 billion.

Ferry predicted that next year, Voksel Electric's sales would
reach Rp 300 billion.

His sales projection is based on new orders from several
companies, including state-owned PT Telkom. (pwn)
