Female body parts found on track

JAKARTA (JP): The partial remains of a woman were found near Kota Railway Station in West Jakarta by commuters and railway personnel on Wednesday morning

A forensic expert from Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Zulhasmar Syamsu, disclosed the remains consisted of the lower abdomen and legs, a small part of the backbone, and internal organs including the uterus, intestines, kidneys, spleen and liver. The body was unclothed.

Zulhasmar estimated the woman was dead some 20 hours before the remains were found because they were not in an advanced stage of decomposition.

He said the forensic examination team identified at least 10 gash wounds to the victim's abdomen and thighs caused by invasive weapons.

"Judging from the wounds, it's likely that the victim was killed before being laid on the railway track." He noted that a strip of clothing was tied tightly around one thigh.

His colleague, Tjetjep Dwija Siswaya, said the team would not be able to determine the woman's exact age, height and the cause of death until the upper part of her body was found.

"We actually could tell the height by her thigh bones, unfortunately, they were shattered," he said.

According to Tjetjep, the victim was of the Mongoloid racial type, had a dark complexion and was of a small, slender build. (01)
