Female body found in Tangerang

TANGERANG (JP): The body of an unidentified female was found floating in Cimancuri river in Ranca Labuh village, Mauk district, here at 5 p.m. on Friday.

A witness, Toman, 26, was quoted by Antara as saying that he became suspicious of an object floating in the river when he crossed over a nearby bridge.

"When I looked more closely it turned out to be a female body. The woman's hands and legs had been bound with plastic string and her face was badly bruised," he said.

Tangerang Police precinct chief Lt. Col. Aryanto Boedihardjo confirmed the discovery and said his officers were still working on the case.

The body was sent to Tangerang General Hospital for a postmortem examination. (hhr)
