Feisal Tanjung gets new title

TIDORE, Maluku: The seafaring people of Central Halmahera
regency conferred the title Kapitan Laut or the Captain of the
Sea on Chief of the Armed Forces (ABRI) Gen. Feisal Tanjung.

"This is a display of this community's trust in me as the ABRI
chief," Feisal said during a ceremony on Monday. "This title
should be something that the community strives to achieve as
well."

Antara reported that during the ceremony, the local tribal
chiefs put a long yellow robe with the red sash traditionally
befitting a captain of the sea on Feisal. Governor of Maluku M.
Akib Latukonsina and chief of the Trikora regional military
command were also present.

Feisal Tanjung visited northern Maluku and Central Halmahera
in conjunction with the inauguration of two warships, the
Pattimura and Nuku. (16)
