FedEx wins five awards

JAKARTA (JP): International air express company Federal
Express (FedEx) announced on Monday that it had won five awards
out of 37 categories in the 13th Asian Freight Industry Awards
(AFIA) 1999.

The company said it won the Best Global Air Cargo Carrier, the
Best All Cargo Airline, the Best Logistic Operator, the Best
Warehouses Operator and the Best Air Cargo Carrier for North
America awards at a ceremony held in Hong Kong on Friday.

AFIA is organized by the Hong Kong-based air cargo magazine
Cargonews Asia. The awards are given in recognition of excellence
in overall performance in 37 categories by more than 13,000
industry peers and customers, through individual ballots that are
sent to Cargonews readers. (gis)
