FedEx improves service

JAKARTA (JP): Express courier service Federal Express (FedEx) has introduced the wireless application protocol (WAP) on its services allowing customers to monitor their FedEx packages through their mobile phones.

"In addition to it being cost effective, the new service will give FedEx customers the freedom to check on their shipments and fulfill their shipping requirements wherever they are," FedEx South Pacific regional vice president Peter Yin said in a statement.

FedEx information can be accessed 24-hours a day with a WAP- enabled phone and a subscription to a WAP service, he said, adding that customers could track packages, locate drop boxes and service center addresses, as well as view the latest FedEx news. (tnt)
