Febi, Hendri get contract extension

JAKARTA (JP): Young Indonesian tennis players Febi Widhiyanto and Hendri Susilo Pramono will receive an extension of their contract with German-based PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia for the 2001 period.

Coach Deddy Prasetyo declined Tuesday to mention the figure of the new contract, saying that manager Jens Reish would hold a discussion on the amount when both players returned home in June in preparation for the 15th National Games (PON) in Surabaya.

"After PON, they will compete in the US$10,000 Future tournaments in Santander and Oviedo in Spain early September as preparation for the Davis Cup against Chinese Taipei in October."

Deddy also said that Febi and Hendri received an offer from a bigger club in the German league involving double contract fees. Presently the players are competing for the BW Schwetzingen tennis club in southern Germany. (yan)
