FE Chicago Marathon training starts

JAKARTA: Training starts on June 10 for the Chicago Marathon in the Far East. The 18-week training program is in preparation for the 42.5-kilometer race on Oct. 12.

This will be the fifth consecutive year that the marathon will be staged in Indonesia. Organizers of the Chicago Marathon in the U.S. officially recognize the Indonesian marathon.

Last year's Far East marathon was staged from Labuan to Anyer in Banten province and was won by Karen Yoder of the U.S., who finished in 4 hours, 11 minutes and 44.96 seconds.
