FBR chairman rejects police' summons

JAKARTA: The chairman of the Betawi Brotherhood Forum (FBR), Fadloli El. Muhir, refused to go to the Jakarta Police Headquarters on Thursday for questioning over violence committed by his group' members.

Members of FBR attacked chairwoman of the Urban Poor Consortium (UPC), Wardah Hafidz and dozens of other people on March 28 at the office of the National Commission of Human Rights.

According to Fadloli's lawyer, Suhana Natawilwana, Fadloli refused to answer the summons as the police had not received permission yet from President Megawati to summons him.

He said Fadloli was a member of the Supreme Advisory Council (DPA). --JP
