FBI to help probe Burfon's death
DENPASAR: The United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) will work with the Bali Police to investigate the death of
Sandra Jean Burfon, a former journalist with Time magazine.
Bali Police's chief of detectives, Boy Salamuddin, said on
Friday FBI agents would provide the gear and the knowledge to
examine the contents of the deceased's laptop computer, which is
believed to hold clues to her death.
"We are waiting for the arrival of several FBI members in
Bali," Boy said.
Burfon, a U.S. citizen, was found dead at Villa Iskandar in
Sanur, near Denpasar, on Feb. 27 with wounds to her face and
head, and what appeared to be strangulation marks around her
neck. She was 62 at the time of her death.
An autopsy performed at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar found
that the head wounds were caused by a blunt object, but it was
unclear whether Burfon was hit or if she suffered the injury when
she fell. -- Antara
