Faulty cable disables train

JAKARTA: An electric train bound for Serpong was held at Kebayoran railway station on Friday, as the cable connecting the train and the overhead wire had been damaged.

According to the public relations officer for the state-owned railway company PT KAI, Zainal Abidin, the disruption did not cause other trains to be rerouted or rescheduled.

Hundreds of affected passengers were transferred to another electric train, while some chose to take buses and other forms of public transport.

The train is currently undergoing repairs at Kebayoran railway station. --JP
