Father dies as son beaten

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: A 60-year old man died after
seeing his son beaten during a local amateur boxing contest on
Thursday night.

Abdul Muis was watching from the VIP's ringside seats when he
suddenly had a heart attack and fell off his chair -- only
moments after the referee stopped the fight and declared his son
the loser in the match against Hermanses Balo from East Nusa
Tenggara.

The competition's doctors gave him a first aid but he died
before they could get him to the hospital, the Antara news agency
reported.

Two other spectators, including a girl, fainted while watching
another fierce boxing match on the same night. (emb)
