Fatahillah Museum holds fun bike, night tour

JAKARTA: The Jakarta History Museum, better known as Fatahillah Museum, will host a bicycle tour around the historical area of Batavia on July 13 and an evening tour of the museum on July 27.

Head of the museum Tinia Budiarti told a press conference on Tuesday that the Tour de Kasteel Batavia Fun Bike will start from Fatahillah Square, West Jakarta, at 6:30 a.m. and will also finish at the square.

During the nearly six-hour tour, participants will visit several historical sites near the square, including four museums.

The registration fees for the bicycle tour are Rp 10,000 for general participants and Rp 5,000 for students. A total of Rp 3.25 million in prize money will be at stake.

The evening tour offers a different approach in visiting the museum. A group of 50 visitors will be guided by a prominent historian, who will tell the dark tale of the nearly 300-year-old building that houses the museum and the legend surrounding it.

The registration fee for the night tour is Rp 50,000.
