Family killed in car crash

CIREBON, West Java: A family of five were among seven people killed in a car accident in the Kandanghaur district in Indramayu regency on Saturday.

The victims died instantly when their car slammed into a parked trailer in the small hours of Saturday, witnesses said.

The dead were identified as Yuyung Yulias, 35, his wife Jartika Dwi Astuti, 30, and their three children Hesti, 3, Riski N, and M Irhas. The last two were elementary school children. They were all residents of the Cipondoh district in Tangerang, also in West Java.

Car driver Edi Suherman, 40, and his assistant Koswara, 40, were the other fatalities.

The truck's driver Mulyono said that he was asleep when the car crashed into the trailer's side.

Police are still investigating the accident. They suspected that the car's driver was sleepy.

According to relatives, Yuyung's family were traveling to Indramayu to pay condolence to his brother in law, who died on Friday. (04)
