False statement

Referring to the article in The Jakarta Post, Oct. 17, 1995,
entitled Lifting of Balabagan's death sentence hailed. The
article included a statement reporting that one hundred
Indonesian workers died in Saudi Arabia's jails in 1994.

We firmly denounce that baseless issue as untrue. The
authorities in Saudi Arabia earlier rejected that false statement
and stated that Saudi Arabia's courts always carefully study
every case on trial. The law in Saudi Arabia is based on the
Islamic Syari'ah which does not discriminate between a Saudi and
a non-Saudi.

We expect that this letter will rectify your above mentioned
article.
