Falling trees injure three

BOGOR (JP): Five trees were uprooted during a hailstorm in Bogor Tengah district Thursday, slightly injuring three people.

One of the five trees fell on a house where the three people -- Muslihat, 25, and his younger sisters Yanti, 20 and Anggi, 11 -- lived. The three sustained head injuries.

"The roof collapsed when we were at home amid heavy rain filled with a series of thunder," Muslihat said.

Muslihat said there had been a hailstorm just before the roof collapsed.

Small pieces of ice fell on the roof of my house, Dudin, another resident, said. "It hailed only briefly," he said.

"I saw pieces of ice as big as marbles. This was the first time I've seen hail," said Mudarisman, Dudin's friend. (24/hhr)
