Falling beer glasses at the Hard Rock

At about 1:30 a.m. on April 2 my friends and I wanted to get something to eat at the McDonald's at Sarinah in Central Jakarta. Our car was parked exactly in front of the restaurant. Half an hour later we wanted to leave. No sooner had we got into our car than we were surprised to hear something smash onto the roof of the car. I got out and found a dent in the roof from where a beer glass had fallen on it.

A short while later a person who identified himself as Ralo, an employee of the Hard Rock Cafe, came and explained to us that one of the cafe's guests had dropped the beer glass. He said that the cafe management would take responsibility for this matter and asked us to see his manager.

Unfortunately, the manager was very unfriendly and did not show any willingness to, as Ralo had promised, take responsibility for the incident. When I told him that I would write a letter about this and have it published in the newspaper, he loudly challenged me to do so and said, equally loudly, that his name was Philips.

I find it hard to understand how the famous Hard Rock Cafe could hire a person who behaves like a thug as its manager.
