Fake guns found in man's house
TANGERANG (JP): Police seized at least 13 types of assembled toy short rifle gas guns of .22 and 4.5 calibers along with 31 bullets from a house at Alam Sutera housing complex here.
Among the guns found in the home of Budi, 30, on Jl. Flamboyan III were a .22 caliber Webley Hurricane RG 76 Germany and 11 4.5 caliber Dayan's guns.
Tangerang Police chief Lt. Col. Pudji Hartanto said the guns, which resembled real weapons, were checked by officers from the identification squad of the National Police forensic laboratory.
"The results show that all 13 guns were assembled toys. But we will keep on quizzing the owner to clarify the reasons and motives of the gun modifications and check on the documents," Pudji said on Monday.
Police found the guns neatly packed in a cardbox box in a bedroom after Budi allegedly attacked and broke into the home of his neighbor Jhoni Chaniago on the same day.
Local residents reported the fray and investigating police officers found Budi and searched his house.
Neighbors reported that Budi often talked to himself and behaved strangely.
"Until now, Budi has kept silent about the guns and my personnel are annoyed by his behavior," Pudji said.
The case is being handled by Tangerang Police, pending further leads. (41/edt)
