The All-Indonesia Workers Union (SPSI) at PT Tong Yang
Indonesia, in reference to a report in the Feb. 22 The Jakarta
Post, offers the following explanation:

1. It is untrue that employees of PT Tong Yang Indonesia are
paid a monthly salary of Rp 200,000. Currently the salaries
exceed the regional minimum wage rate and amount to Rp 250,500,
not including the allowances given by the company.

2. It is untrue that canteen supervisor Bapak Aris is
detained by the authorities.

3. As of Feb. 22, no employees were hospitalized.
