Facts on Israel

The settlers of the "land of Israel" as we know it today, came in the hope of a chance of a future; they came from many lands with many skills. They made the dessert bloom -- they had no choice but to make what they could of this one chance of a new life. Forming communities and farms called Kibbutz, the Sabra's toiled long and hard with knowledge accumulated from many persecuted generations.

At that time the land of Israel or if you like Palestine was inhabited by nomadic tribes who were content to travel freely at whim across these dry borderless lands. As the desert turned green -- and borders became necessary -- resentment reared its head -- a clash, of cultures and a way of life, -- became inevitable.

In only 50 years, tiny Israel (much smaller than Java) has become the most advanced country in technology, science and agriculture with some of the most brilliant minds. "Don't knock it...
