Expo 2000 to open in March

JAKARTA (JP): At least 5,000 foreign buyers and investors from
60 countries will attend the Indonesian Expo 2000 trade fair
scheduled for March next year.

The trade fair is expected to net business transactions worth
US$27.5 million from various sectors, but mainly from Indonesia's
prime commodities such as textiles, furniture and agricultural
products.

The event organizer Dwi Karsonno said about 600 buyers have
said they would participate but added it would depend on
Indonesia's political situation next year.

The trade fair will also feature international products and
will be held at the Jakarta Fair Ground. (06)
